2025: The year of bridge monitoring
In addition to the proven applications of our SuessCo sensors – such as crack monitoring, the monitoring of residential buildings and historical infrastructure – the monitoring of bridges is increasingly coming into focus. The recent, sometimes tragic bridge collapses have impressively demonstrated how crucial permanent digital monitoring is for the safety of bridges. This newsletter offers you a direct insight into the technology and the implementation of successful bridge monitoring projects with SuessCo sensors.
Good luck with your projects

Feel the pulse of the supporting structure – with patented sensor technology from SuessCo Sensors
Imagine a world in which bridges are not only safer, but also usable for longer!
The recent high-profile bridge damage has clearly shown one thing:
Continuous monitoring is essential and is already frequently prescribed in expert reports. With state-of-the-art SuessCo sensors, we offer seamless monitoring that records and documents even the smallest movements and changes in 6 dimensions in real time. This means that necessary safety and maintenance measures can be taken at an early stage. In addition, digital monitoring creates a solid basis for preventive maintenance, allowing damage to be repaired in good time, extending the service life of bridges and making them safer to use.
By using SuessCo sensors, you make an important contribution to the safety and longevity of your infrastructure projects.
The SuessCo 6D sensor
Discover the SuessCo 6D sensor – the only sensor that detects six dimensions without contact. It detects precise changes in position and rotations and transmits them wirelessly to the monitoring dashboard. Ideal for documenting movements in bridge bearings.
Key features:
- High accuracy and no drift
- 6 dimensions with one sensor
- Integrated temperature sensor
- Long term of 10 years
- Robust industrial design
Case study: SuessCo bridge monitoring in practice
The Lower Austrian bridge construction authority has been using SuessCo sensors to monitor the Danube bridge between Krems/Stein and Mautern since 2022. Several SuessCo 6D sensors measure the movements of the bridge segments, while an integrated temperature sensor also provides valuable information. In the latest Suessco case study, we summarize the project in a practical way.

Geofix is our partner in Scandinavia
Even under extreme weather conditions, the SuessCo sensors function perfectly and deliver permanently precise data.
Our partner Geofix, which uses our sensors to monitor bridges in the Scandinavian polar cold, provides the practical test for this.
SuessCo presents itself at the 23rd International Geodetic Week Obergurgl 2025.
Once again this year, SuessCo has been invited to present technical innovations at the Geodetic Weeks in Obergurgl. Our Senior Engineer Roman Windl will give a presentation on “Measurements of traffic infrastructures and buildings in 6 dimensions: Multi-year measurements and challenges”.
