2025: The Year of Bridge Monitoring
In addition to the proven applications of our SuessCo sensors – such as crack monitoring, monitoring of residential buildings, and historical infrastructure – the monitoring of bridges is increasingly coming into focus. The recent, sometimes tragic bridge collapses have impressively demonstrated how crucial permanent digital monitoring is for the safety of bridges. This newsletter offers you a direct insight into the technology and the implementation of successful bridge monitoring projects with SuessCo sensors.
We wish you the best of success
Your SuessCo Team
Feel the pulse of the structure – with patented sensor technology from SuessCo Sensors
Imagine a world where bridges are not only safer but can also stay busy beyond the expected lifetime.
Recent high-profile bridge damages have clearly shown one thing:
Continuous monitoring is essential and is already often mandated in assessments. With state-of-the-art SuessCo sensors, we offer seamless monitoring that captures and documents even the smallest movements and changes in 6 dimensions in real-time. This allows necessary safety and maintenance measures to be taken early. Furthermore, digital monitoring creates a solid foundation for preventive maintenance, enabling timely repairs, extending the lifespan of bridges, and making their use safer.
By using SuessCo sensors, you contribute significantly to the safety and longevity of your customers‘ infrastructure projects.
The SuessCo 6D-sensor
Discover the SuessCo 6D-sensor – the only sensor that captures six dimensions without contact. It accurately detects position changes and rotations and transmits them wirelessly to the monitoring dashboard. Ideal for documenting movements in bridge bearings.
Key Features:
- High accuracy and no drift
- 6 dimensions with one sensor
- Integrated temperature sensor
- Long lifespan of up to10 years
Case Study: SuessCo Bridge Monitoring in Practical Use
Since 2022, the Lower Austrian Bridge Authority has been monitoring the road bridge between Krems/Stein and Mautern with SuessCo sensors. Several SuessCo 6D sensors measure the movements of the bridge segments, and an integrated temperature sensor provides additional valuable information.
Geofix is our partner in Scandinavia
Even under extreme weather conditions in Swedish winter, the SuessCo sensors work flawlessly and provide accurate data consistently. The practical proof is provided by our partner Geofix, who uses our sensors to monitor bridges in the Scandinavian polar cold.
