SuessCo 6D sensors are based on a novel magnetic field technology and enable non-contact and precise measurement of movements and rotations of building or component parts relative to each other.
The SuessCo 6D sensor is easy to install and provides precise data on the condition of the monitored component directly into the SuessCo Dashboard at any time. In addition, the sensor simultaneously monitors component movements in 6 dimensions: Movements in the X-, Y- and Z-axis are measured, as well as rotations of the component in the Euler angles α, β and γ.
Conventional measurement methods have several problems:
Analog methods such as "crack spy" or "crack ruler" are merely scales from which changes can be read. Measurement and documentation must be performed manually by a person on site. This is time-consuming, expensive and the frequency of measurement and accuracy are limited.
The SuessCo 6D sensor always delivers precise live data, documents it permanently and processes it graphically. You get a data situation as if the Rissspion is evaluated 24/7 by a person and the data is recorded. But the whole thing wirelessly, comfortably and over long periods of time.
Mechanical methods such as "vibrating wire sensors" measure only one dimension per sensor. A measurement of 3 dimensions requires complex setups with multiple sensors, which are complex and expensive to install.
Both sensors provide permanent high-quality measurement data. The 6D sensor provides data on component displacements as well as twists. Furthermore, the 6D sensor can be extended with additional external sensors and covers a wider range of applications. The 3D sensor provides data on the displacement of the components, a change in the angles to each other ("tilting") is not recorded.
The sensor assembly consists of two parts: A sensor part and a reference magnet. The sensor part detects the movements of the reference magnet without contact. The communication module for transmitting the data is already integrated in the sensor housing. In addition, a power supply is required (battery box or external power supply).
SuessCo 6D sensors enable the monitoring of movements or rotations of components in relation to each other. For example, cracks on buildings, the movement of bridge parts, and any other movement can be digitally, precisely, and permanently recorded.
The sensor offers a high measurement accuracy of ± 50 µm for the longitudinal axes (x, y, z) and ± 0.2 ° for the rotation values (α, β, γ). The sensor also has an integrated temperature sensor with an accuracy of ± 0.5°C. Measurement accuracy is ensured by magnetic field technology, which has no drift or wear.
- 6D sensor: 170mm x 130mm x 45mm
- Reference magnet: 65mm x 65mm x 32mm
- X-axis: up to 60 mm (longitudinal measuring range extendable)
- Y, Z axis: between 20-30 mm
- α, β, γ: up to 360 °
Temperature: between -30 °C up to +60 °C
ASSEMBLY
Mounting is simple and possible in many circumstances. It can be done via screws, threaded rods, magnets, adhesive or mounting rails. The sensor and the magnet each have two mounting points with 8mm diameter.
The sensor can detect the reference magnet both below and above the sensor, providing a variety of mounting options. The sensor does not require any particular positioning in the room and can be mounted both vertically and horizontally.
SuessCo sensors are easy to install because they have a large measuring range and are self-leveling. In addition, the zero point of the measurement can be set again in the SuessCo Dashboard after mounting. The sensor does not need to be precisely aligned as it is self-leveling. Magnetic field technology makes it possible to detect the position and rotation between two objects, even without a specific alignment to each other.
The sensor is activated with a magnet during mounting and immediately starts sending the measured values. The measured values can be viewed in the SuessCo Sensors Dashboard.
DASHBOARD
The measured values are transmitted wirelessly from the sensor to the SuessCo Dashboard, where they are displayed graphically over time.
You will receive the access data from us as soon as the sensors are on their way to you or have been installed by us.
The measurement interval can be set individually in the dashboard. The minimum measurement interval is two minutes. We recommend a daily measurement as the maximum measurement interval. The transmission interval to the dashboard can be set synchronously with the measurements. However, longer intervals are also possible, which can extend the battery life.
Yes, it is possible. You can export the measured values both as a file (for example, as .CSV) or connect to their system via an API.
Please contact us for more information about the API connection - sensors@suessco.com
Limits and alarm thresholds can be set for all dimensions. The alarm function makes it possible to receive notifications when the measured values exceed or drop below certain thresholds. Thresholds can be set individually, depending on the application and needs. The notifications are sent by e-mail.
As a service provider with multiple customers and projects, you can conveniently manage all projects under one interface. In addition, you can create limited access for specific sensors, projects and sensors for your customers through rights and user management. Multi-client capability ensures that their customers can only view their own data at a time.
Any number of sensors can be combined in one dashboard.
The integration of further sensors is possible in principle. The SuessCo Dashboard can receive and display sensor data via APIs. This enables the mapping of complex projects with multiple sensor dimensions under one interface.
