Case Study: Danube Bridge
At the historic Danube Bridge between Krems and Mautern, the 6D sensors ensured safe operation during ongoing renovation work. The value of this real-time data was particularly evident during the flooding in September 2024: Despite significant current forces and a temperature-induced shortening of the bridge segment by 15 mm, the measurements documented a subsequent return to the usual diurnal cycle. A direct comparison with other sensors confirmed that no displacement of the bearings had occurred. As a result, the bridge remained safe for traffic at all times without the need for time-consuming on-site special inspections that would have tied up resources.
